My 2 Liter Soda Bottle Brewing Method

Image
MY SIMPLE BREWING METHOD Hey there, welcome to my quick rundown of how I brew beer using 2-liter soda bottles. It’s simple, affordable, and perfect for small-batch homebrewers like me. Whether you’re new to brewing or just looking for a creative way to make great beer in small batches, this method’s got you covered. So, why soda bottles? First off, they’re cheap, reusable, and easy to find. Most of us probably have a few lying around. They’re also perfect for small batches—you’re not committing to a big fermenter or making more beer than you can handle. Plus, they’re made to hold carbonation, so I also use smaller soda bottles as my serving vessels. It’s all about keeping it simple while still making something delicious. WHAT I USE 1. 2-Liter Soda Bottles, and 16.9 ounce soda bottles – Cleaned and then sanitized with Mr. Beer No Rinse Sanitizer 2. Mr. Beer Ingredients – I use their Pale, Smooth, Robust, or Golden un-hopped liquid malt extracts. 3. Steeping Grains – Sometimes I throw i...

Do You Know Who Daniel Goodhue Is?

Most people are not familiar with the Dan Goodhue that I am referring to. He was a sailor in the Revolutionary War and was captured and sent to prison in England. As he stayed there as a young man he ended up writing a short 7 verse poem about himself and the war. He later was released and went home and married, fathered children and became a captain of his own boat. It wasn't until hundreds of years later that his poem was accidentally found. I have wrote a hub about it if you would like to...

Drinking Pickle Juice Might be the New Sports Drink

Many sports athletes in the past have drank pickle juice to help stop and relieve cramping. Some believed it whereas some thought it was just phooey. But now many athletes are taking to it and taking to it big time. Why? In the past many used it because they had the belief that it would help them to relieve cramping, but now a test that was recently conducted at the university of BYU has proven this theory to be fact. What is truly remarkable is pickle juice actually has been shown that within 85 seconds of drinking it the cramping stops. The reason for this is because pickle juice is a natural source of sodium and it also contains other electrolytes that are beneficial. So if you are a serious athlete and you want to prevent cramping just go to the refrigerator open the door and down some pickle juice.

'I Made a Million Dollars'-Flip Flop Shops

In a bad economy, a guy named Scott Santy has earned over $1 million dollars by opening a franchise called Flip Flop Shops inside Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. He was so excited about the progress that his finance system had made that he had a tattoo put on his right foot of the company's logo. He is a good example of people making money despite shaky economy.

Something Cool Involving Math and Radioactive Decay

If you are interested in science and the field of Radioactivity, you can do a search on Google for the term: ' cool math - radioactive decay calculator' and you will find a method that is used to figure out how to find the decay of certain types of matter. I'm no scientist and so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I'm sure it involves radioactive elements , isotopes , and ions. But that type of information is not familiar to me at all! But it could prove to be interesting to you.

Marie Curie and 2 Elements on the Periodic Table

First off, who is Marie Curie? Marie was a chemist and a physicist who lead research in the realm of radioactivity. She was given 2 Nobel Prizes for her work in developing a technique to isolate radioactive isotopes. She also discovered 2 elements that we currently have on our periodic table: Radium and Polonium. (You remember the chart of elements we had to study in school don't you?)

Science: The Big Bang Theory Cast

I'm not talking about the type of science that you would observe at a museum or the kind of science that requires projects . I'm talking about the science involving the TV show The Big Bang Theory series. Have you watched it? My favorite cast members are Sheldon , who is played by Jim Parsons. He is so funny!! Bazzinga! Ha-ha. My next favorite person on the show is Penny who is played by Kaley Cuoco . She is hot looking!

Drake Quotes and Sayings-Huh?

I'm must be way behind in my times because I, up until recently, had never heard of Drake quotes. I grew up listening to rap but I guess I must have missed hearing from this successful rapper. His lyrics have become popular quotes and sayings amongst people. He talks about life, friends, relationships, drinking, girls, success, peer pressure. Wow, I had no idea. Here is an example of a quote from Drake called 'Take Care':  'It’s my birthday, I’ll get high if I want to'.

Using SparkNotes and a Good Dictionary

To give help for kids with the SAT's and similar tests, Barnes & Noble provides popular study guides called SparkNotes . They range from all kinds of subjects from history to math and science. Some think it's a cheating way to study but I feel that if your kids learn and they pass then it's not cheating. There is nothing wrong in opinion to having everything you need at your fingertips.

Cutting Out Patterns of Winter Snowflakes

Yep, that's what we have been thinking about doing lately, cutting out paper snowflakes . You may be wondering why. Well, we live in Florida and I originally came from Michigan where it snows every year. And since snow is real rare here in Florida (ha-ha) we decided it would be cool to go with a winter theme for decorations this year. So we have been looking for free patterns online. A lot of people make snowflakes using Christmas patterns . We found a site called http://www.papersnowflakes.com/patterns.htm. We will be cutting away!

Hickstead, The Horse of Eric Lamaze has Trageically Died

I'm not a big fan of horses but I am of animals and so when I heard that a famous horse called Hickstead had died recently I was saddened. From what I understand his death was caught on video. In fact, you can search for ' Hickstead death video ' to see what happened to him. They warn you that it is graphic.

How to Train for a Marathon or Half Marathon

That's what I typed in my favorite search engine recently because I've been thinking about training to do a marathon next year. My wife has suggested that I just do a half marathon first and see how I do and then train again for a full fledged marathon if I complete the half one. (I'm thinking that a half marathon is for me so I am going to be doing a search for a ' training schedule for a marathon ' but only training for a half marathon)

Getting Good Furniture From Aarons Rental

I wanted to share some of my thoughts about rent-to-own furniture. I own a furniture repair business and a number of my accounts that I have included are furniture rental stores such as Aaron's Rental and Rent-A-Center. There is a big difference in the quality of furniture between the two stores. What I like about Aaron's Rental is they make their own furniture. Most people don't know that. So when my wife, a few years back, wanted new bedroom furniture I suggested Aaron's Rental and that's what we ended up getting. I know she had her eye on some Cindy Crawford Furniture but it was way too expensive.

Vacuum Cleaners and Coffee Makers

I just recently posted that I was going to buy some memory foam for my mattress and a heating pad. But as we were shopping my wife hinted that she would like a new vacuum like a Dyson or something, too. And on top of that, our coffee maker is dying! (Which reminds me, I need to look up ' how to clean coffee maker ' when I get home. Ours needs some attention!)

Fall Weather and Needing a New Mattress

I know that the title I've chosen doesn't make a whole lot of sense especially if you follow the ' how to post a blog title ' correctly. But hold on and I'll explain. The fall leaves have arrived and soon they will be gone (which reminds me that I probably should take some fall pictures before they all disappear). But what also comes with fall is cooler weather. I love it when I can open the windows and let the cool brisk breeze flow in. I sleep so good!
